My longest running personal project is making cards out of paper. I make a card for all of my friends and family's birthdays, enough that everyone close to me expects to receive one. It's my specialty, and my loved ones look forward to seeing what I will make for them! I make each card with a specific person in mind, usually choosing a character that they love.
It's very fun having a running hands-on project. I greatly enjoy the process of choosing a character or design, selecting the perfect paper colors, cutting all the little pieces, sometimes drawing on them, and finally taping everything together. I use tape because it brings a bit of dimension to the design- I think it's cool when the design pops off the page slightly. Here are some of my favorite cards I've made and a few process photos.
